Unlike my previous blogs, this blog is dedicated to every mother with a child struggling with Mental Health. Having a child with challenging Mental Health doesn't mean your a bad parent, it makes us strong parents! Yes, as we robotically drag ourselves through our daily routines and chores, we come to find that not only do we deal with caring for our own mental health but we also deal with our childs.
So what is Mental Health and what does this mean for you as a parent?
Mental Health is clarified as a persons condition with regard to their psychological, social and emotional well being.
Many factors can contribute to challenging mental health, these can range from trauma, biological, life experiences or family history. Whatever the factor may be, these children depend on their parents and support system to guide them through the course of their life.
As a mother to a child struggling with their mental health, I have learned a lot and in turn been able to provide my child with the best support I could possibly give. I wont sugar coat it, its difficult and frustrating to feel that I cant help them as much as I want to.
Having a child with non challenging Mental Health allows your child to realize their full potential and cope with the daily stresses presented to them, work productively within school and social gatherings and most importantly understand their own value to the people around them. A child with challenging mental health may not cope as well as a child without these challenges, however it is possible with the right support and right understanding for them to have a positive life and have control over their own challenges..
If you are reading this and have a child with challenging mental health you may already realise how difficult it is not only to obtain a diagnosis but also support. Don't be afraid to stomp your feet repeatedly to get the support you need to help your child.

My Ode To Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
Child & Adolescent Mental Health
Is watching a horror film, in the dark with no light switch,
Uncontrollable darkness grabbing a lift
No remote to turn this replaying traumatising scene off
Adolescent mental health is a mother feeling her sons fragile hands as he steps off that cliff
Peering over the edge , waves crashing against the shore, violently eroding the barriers of his foundation with no escape door.
Feeling his agonising pain, like a herd of cockroaches eating away at any self control or reasoning to love, live , think that there is a tomorrow.
Believe that there is a tomorrow ! Your be happy - no more sorrow.
Just today son. Just hold on today- tomorrow you can let go, you can jump but please for today don't let go!!!!
Scratching in my own head like a vile creature trying to escape the darkeness.
I'm not mad son. I'm full of forgiveness .
One more day son- let me have you one more day.
Child & Adolescent mental health is him sat there with a plastic bag over his head and there is nothing I can do about it
It getting tighter and the air of life stops . He drops. He smiles because it's over .
Child & Adolescent mental health is him begging every night to not see the light of day and no Matter how hard I try I can't find those damn batteries for the torch to guide his way!
Mental health - healthy to be mental - health in your mentality .
Child & Adolescent mental health is the rain pouring down upon us and his fingers slipping through my hands - he has gone,
Something's a miss, something's wrong-Looking around to find our ground.
I'm with you son hold on- hold on- I'm not leaving you- I'm coming too.
Curled - crumbled- defeated by the war inside his mind,
reaching out for the sound of my voice, bringing him back to the shore,
its here son, hold on I've found the door.
Child & Adolescent mental health is a new day a new inner war.
